FAITH LIFE 1

Sue O’Donnell. 07.02.21

“I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 16 v 8)

What a good motto for Advent, or Christmas, or Lent, or Easter.

“Therefore my heart is glad,” full of hope,

“And my glory rejoices” (Psalm 16 v 9) looking towards the outcomes of Christmas,

Jesus coming to us, all of us, in love’s holy purpose.

The Son acts on behalf of the Lord God Almighty.

“He has called us believers to know His mercy and His glory.” (Romans 9 v 23 The Truth)

Here put succinctly, is the message of Christmas living on.

The message by which we realise this:

It is of vital importance for us to become virtuous in turning to Christ Jesus.

“He also says that it will come about that people who were bid, not truly His chosen ones shall become the sons (daughters) of the living God.” (Romans 9 v 26 The Truth)

“Even non-Jewish people, who never sought to live in ways that are right and pleasing to God, have been put right with God and made acceptable to Him as a result of their faith.” (Romans 9 v 30)

Yes, this faith in Jesus is a most wondrous thing, the start of our eternal gladness, the fulfilment of our faith

life.

I ask that having faithfully served, prayed and worshipped through the Lord Jesus, by means of the Spirit of life also gifted, after dying, may we experience the full joy of knowing You as Father.

During all the seasons of the church, let us prepare for the comforting and reassuring love the Lord Jesus will hold out before us to reveal Your mercy, Father God.

At this time, called ‘Ordinary Times’, may we strive after making the Lord Jesus the way forwards by faith, blessed by the wisdom and truth made our own through claiming, naming and sharing our Saviour Brother.

Let us see the holiness of You as a Trinity of goodness, willingly, freely shared with us, Father so merciful, bountiful and kind. Thank You for allowing us, inviting us to turn to Jesus, our forever Saviour.

In Him, through Him, influenced by the power of the Spirit, let us be transformed, reformed and conformed to increasing holiness day by day.

As love from the Trinity is especially sought after, valued and celebrated at Christmas and beyond, we must make ready for this now with no time to lose, for Advent passes quickly.

As the Lord Jesus lives for us, may we, by the input of the Spirit of love, live for our Saviour Brother, His power and influence full upon us as Your way, Your truth, Your life dearest Father.

May love be our method and means daily, regularly, wholeheartedly as we look to the Spirit to help us overcome all self-centredness. Cleansed, made ready, may Jesus live within us, that no time be lost in our pursuit of holiness. Amen.
